Description The Dell PowerProtect Data Domain software contains a flaw related to improper handling of special characters within operating system commands, potentially allowing for command execution. This issue requires a high-privileged attacker to have local access to the system. The vulnerability, known as 'OS Command Injection', could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the affected system.
Recommendations Dell PowerProtect Data Domain versions 7.7.1.0 through 8.4.0.0 should be updated. Dell PowerProtect Data Domain LTS2025 version 8.3.1.10 should be updated. Dell PowerProtect Data Domain LTS2024 versions 7.13.1.0 through 7.13.1.40 should be updated. Dell PowerProtect Data Domain LTS2023 versions 7.10.1.0 through 7.10.1.70 should be updated.
