**Description**
The issue is related to the `try parse v4 netmask` function in `hostmask.c`, which does not properly validate masks. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a mask that causes a negative number to be parsed.

For versions prior to 8.0.6, update to version 8.0.6 or later to resolve the issue.
