Microsoft · Windows · CVE-2012-0174
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions**
Windows versions prior to the fixed version
**Description**
A security feature bypass issue exists due to the way Windows Firewall handles outbound broadcast packets. This could allow remote attackers to obtain potentially sensitive information by observing broadcast traffic on a local network. An attacker who successfully exploited this issue could bypass the Windows Firewall defense-in-depth mechanism to facilitate exploitation of other issues.
**Recommendations**
For Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2, R2, and R2 SP1, and Windows 7 Gold and SP1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
