WordPress · Post Smtp Mailer/Email Log · CVE-2023-6629
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** The POST SMTP Mailer – Email log, Delivery Failure Notifications and Best Mail SMTP for WordPress plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.8.6 **Description** The issue is related to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the `msg` parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. **Recommendations** For versions up to, and including, 2.8.6, consider disabling the `msg` parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to areas where the `msg` parameter is used to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Avoid using the `msg` parameter in affected areas until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
