Oracle · Mysql Server · CVE-2025-21546
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior **Description** The issue allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of MySQL Server's accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of MySQL Server's accessible data. The vulnerability is related to a buffer read beyond boundaries in the Server: Security: Privileges component. **Recommendations** For MySQL Server versions 8.0.40 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.40 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.4.3 and prior, update to a version later than 8.4.3 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 9.1.0 and prior, update to a version later than 9.1.0 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
