**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.31.6 **Description** The issue allows local users to cause a denial of service (OOPS) via an application that attempts to allocate a large amount of memory. This is due to a problem in the do mmap pgoff function in mm/nommu.c, which occurs when the CPU lacks a memory management unit. **Recommendations** For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.31.6, update to version 2.6.31.6 or later to resolve the issue.
