Oracle · Jrockit · CVE-2017-3241
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Java SE versions 6u131, 7u121, and 8u112 Java SE Embedded version 8u111 JRockit version R28.3.12 **Description** The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the RMI component of the Java Platform, allowing an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, and JRockit. Successful attacks can result in the takeover of these systems. This vulnerability can be exploited by supplying data to APIs in the specified component without using untrusted Java Web Start applications or untrusted Java applets. The vulnerability may significantly impact additional products. **Recommendations** For Java SE versions 6u131, 7u121, and 8u112, update to a version that contains the fix for this issue. For Java SE Embedded version 8u111, update to a version that contains the fix for this issue. For JRockit version R28.3.12, update to a version that contains the fix for this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the RMI component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
