Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions snap-confine (affected versions not specified)
Description A local privilege escalation issue exists in snap-confine, a core component used by Canonical snapd to create secure execution environments for snap applications. The flaw occurs in versions configured with set-capabilities, where a failure in initializing privilege boundaries or security sandboxes when running under limited ambient capabilities allows an unprivileged local attacker to bypass restrictions. This can lead to the execution of arbitrary code and the elevation of privileges to full root authority.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
