| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
No specific software or versions are mentioned.
Description
The portmapper can act as a proxy and redirect service requests from an attacker, making the request appear to come from the local host. This could potentially bypass authentication that would otherwise have taken place, allowing unauthorized access to restricted resources. For instance, NFS file systems could be mounted through the portmapper despite export restrictions.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
