CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Windows versions 95, 98, and NT 4.0
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by spoofing ICMP redirect messages from a router, which causes Windows to change its routing tables.
Recommendations: For Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0, consider restricting access to the network to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the ability to accept ICMP redirect messages until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
