| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
3Com HiPer Access Router Card (HiperARC) versions 4.0 through 4.2.29
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a reboot of the system. This can be achieved by flooding the telnet port with IAC packets.
Recommendations:
For versions 4.0 through 4.2.29, consider restricting access to the telnet port to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limiting the number of incoming connections to the telnet port may also help mitigate the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
