| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Internet Explorer 5.0
Description:
The setup wizard for Internet Explorer 5.0 has two issues. Firstly, it disables the screen saver, which could leave the system open to users with physical access if a failure occurs during an unattended installation. Secondly, it disables the Task Scheduler Service, which might prevent the scheduled execution of security-critical programs.
Recommendations:
For Internet Explorer 5.0, consider implementing additional access controls to mitigate the risk of unauthorized physical access during unattended installations. Additionally, ensure that security-critical programs are not reliant on the Task Scheduler Service for execution, or implement alternative scheduling mechanisms to prevent disruption.
