Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Apple MacOS X version 1.0
Apache HTTP server (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A possible interaction between Apple MacOS X and Apache HTTP server allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a flood of HTTP GET requests to CGI programs, which generates a large number of processes.
Recommendations:
For Apple MacOS X version 1.0, consider restricting access to CGI programs to minimize the risk of exploitation.
For Apache HTTP server, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the handling of HTTP GET requests to CGI programs until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
