Description
The issue arises from interactions between the CIFS Browser Protocol and NetBIOS, allowing remote attackers to modify dynamic NetBIOS name cache entries. This can be achieved by sending a spoofed Browse Frame Request in a unicast or UDP broadcast datagram.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000, apply the necessary patch to fix the issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
