CVE-2000-1204
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apache versions 1.3.9 through 1.3.12
Description
A security issue in the mod vhost alias virtual hosting module allows remote attackers to obtain the source code for CGI programs if the cgi-bin directory is located under the document root. It is noteworthy that having the cgi-bin directory under a document root is not a typical configuration.
Recommendations
For Apache versions 1.3.9 through 1.3.12, consider relocating the cgi-bin directory outside of the document root to prevent the exposure of CGI source code. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the cgi-bin directory until a more permanent solution can be implemented.
