Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, either through resource exhaustion or forced disconnection, by flooding the server with spoofed UDP connection packets. This type of attack can exceed the server's player limit.
Recommendations
For Quake 1, restrict access to the server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
For NetQuake, consider implementing rate limiting on incoming UDP connections to prevent packet flooding.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
