Description The issue arises from the xp peekqueue function in Microsoft SQL Server, which fails to properly restrict the length of a buffer before calling the srv paraminfo function in the SQL Server API for Extended Stored Procedures (XP). This allows an attacker to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary commands.
Recommendations For Microsoft SQL Server 2000, apply the necessary patch to fix the "Extended Stored Procedure Parameter Parsing" issue. For Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE), apply the necessary patch to fix the "Extended Stored Procedure Parameter Parsing" issue.
