Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Recourse ManTrap version 1.6
Description
The issue allows attackers to determine they are in a honeypot system by executing a specific command. When an attacker changes the directory to
/proc/self/cwd and executes the pwd command, the system generates an error, revealing its nature as a honeypot.Recommendations
For Recourse ManTrap version 1.6, consider restricting access to the
/proc/self/cwd directory to prevent attackers from executing the pwd command and discovering they are in a honeypot system. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
