Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
IPSwitch IMail version 6.0.5
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by utilizing the SMTP AUTH command. This is achieved by sending a base64-encoded user password with a length between 80 and 136 bytes.
Recommendations:
For IPSwitch IMail version 6.0.5, consider restricting access to the SMTP AUTH command as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Avoid using base64-encoded passwords with lengths between 80 and 136 bytes in the affected command to minimize the risk of exploitation.
