Description: The issue allows a local attacker to overwrite other users' files via a symlink attack on backup files or temporary files used when printing a file or portions of a file.

Recommendations: For versions 5.1.1 and earlier, consider restricting access to the file printing functionality until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the file printing feature in NEdit until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
