Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
HP OpenView Network Node Manager version 6.1
Description:
A buffer overflow attack is possible in the HP Event Correlation Service (ecsd) via the
-restore config command line parameter, allowing a remote attacker to gain additional privileges.Recommendations:
For HP OpenView Network Node Manager version 6.1, consider restricting access to the
-restore config command line parameter until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the -restore config parameter to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
