CVE-2001-0753
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cisco CBOS versions 2.3.8 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows unauthorized users to obtain passwords in cleartext, potentially gaining privileges. This is because passwords for
exec and enable are stored in cleartext in the NVRAM and a configuration file.Recommendations:
For Cisco CBOS versions 2.3.8 and earlier, consider restricting access to the NVRAM and configuration files to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of
exec and enable features until a fix is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
