Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to a crash, and may also enable the execution of arbitrary code. This is achieved by exploiting invalid BER length of length fields. The PROTOS LDAPv3 test suite has demonstrated this vulnerability.

Recommendations: For iPlanet Directory Server versions 4.1.4 and earlier, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
