| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
slrn versions 0.9 and earlier
Description
The issue affects the binary decoding feature of slrn, allowing remote attackers to execute commands via shell scripts inserted into a news post. This can lead to a breach of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The exploitation of these vulnerabilities can be carried out remotely.
Recommendations
For slrn versions 0.9 and earlier, consider disabling the binary decoding feature as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the news post feature to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
