Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Domain Name Relay Daemon (dnrd) versions 2.10 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote malicious DNS sites to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a long or malformed DNS reply. This is due to improper handling by functions such as
parse query and get objectname.Recommendations
For versions 2.10 and earlier, update to a version later than 2.10 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the DNS relay service to minimize the risk of exploitation.
