| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Nullsoft Shoutcast Server version 1.8.3
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the admin.cgi component, which can be triggered by remote attackers sending an argument with a large number of backslashes. This can cause a denial of service and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Nullsoft Shoutcast Server version 1.8.3, consider restricting access to the admin.cgi component until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the size of arguments passed to admin.cgi to prevent the buffer overflow.
