Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption, by flooding TCP SYN packets that may contain malformed data to port 445.
Recommendations
For Windows XP, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to port 445 to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
