Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Endymion SakeMail versions 1.0.36 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. This is achieved by utilizing a directory traversal vulnerability in the com.endymion.sake.servlet.mail.MailServlet servlet. The vulnerability can be exploited by including a .. (dot dot) and a null character in the
param name parameter.Recommendations
For Endymion SakeMail versions 1.0.36 and earlier, consider restricting access to the com.endymion.sake.servlet.mail.MailServlet servlet until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the
param name parameter in the affected servlet to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
