Description
A buffer overflow issue exists in the Internet Mail Connector (IMC) for Microsoft Exchange Server, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by sending an EHLO request from a system with a long name, as obtained through a reverse DNS lookup, which triggers the overflow in IMC's hello response.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
