CVE-2002-0794
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
FreeBSD versions 4 through 4.5
Description:
The issue concerns the accept filter mechanism, which does not properly handle the removal of entries from the incomplete listen queue when a syncache is added. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, affecting network service availability, by making a large number of connection attempts that fill the queue.
Recommendations:
For FreeBSD versions 4 through 4.5, consider restricting access to the affected network services to minimize the risk of exploitation until a fix is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
