CVE-2002-0802
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
PostgreSQL versions 6.5.x
Description:
The issue in PostgreSQL concerns the multibyte support when using SQL ASCII encoding. It can consume an extra character during the processing of a character that cannot be converted. This could potentially remove an escape character from a query, making the application susceptible to SQL injection attacks.
Recommendations:
For PostgreSQL versions 6.5.x, consider updating the encoding settings to prevent the removal of escape characters, or apply a patch if available, to mitigate the risk of SQL injection attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
