Description:
A directory traversal issue exists in the search engine, allowing remote attackers to read arbitrary files. This is achieved by using .. (dot-dot backslash) sequences in the
NS-query-pat parameter. The issue affects systems running on Windows platforms.Recommendations:
For iPlanet web server versions 6.0 SP2 and 4.1 SP9, restrict access to the search engine functionality until a fix is available.
For Netscape Enterprise Server version 3.6, consider disabling the search engine feature to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the
