Description: The issue arises from the getmxrecord function not properly checking the boundary of a malformed DNS packet from a malicious DNS server. This allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) when Fetchmail attempts to read data beyond the expected boundary.

Recommendations: For Fetchmail versions 6.0.0 and earlier, update to a version later than 6.0.0 to resolve the issue.
