CVE-2002-1178
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Jetty HTTP server versions prior to 4.1.0
Description:
A directory traversal issue exists in the CGIServlet of the Jetty HTTP server, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This is achieved by sending an HTTP request to the cgi-bin directory that includes .. (dot-dot backslash) sequences.
Recommendations:
For versions prior to 4.1.0, update to version 4.1.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the cgi-bin directory to minimize the risk of exploitation.
