CVE-2002-1215
CVSS v2.0
10
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
heartbeat versions 0.4.9 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via certain packets to UDP port 694. This is due to multiple format string vulnerabilities, which some sources incorrectly claim as buffer overflows.
Recommendations:
For versions 0.4.9 and earlier, consider restricting access to UDP port 694 until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the heartbeat service until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
