CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Simple Web Server (SWS) versions 0.0.4 through 0.1.0
Description
The issue arises from the improper handling of the recv function call failure, potentially allowing remote attackers to overwrite program data or perform actions on an uninitialized heap. This could lead to a denial of service and possibly code execution.
Recommendations
For versions 0.0.4 through 0.1.0, consider implementing proper error handling for the recv function call to prevent potential overwrites of program data or actions on an uninitialized heap. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the Simple Web Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
