CVE-2002-2144
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
BearShare versions 4.0.5 through 4.0.6
Description:
A directory traversal issue allows remote attackers to read files outside of the web root by hex-encoding the "/" (forward slash) or "." (dot) characters.
Recommendations:
For versions 4.0.5 and 4.0.6, consider restricting access to sensitive files and directories until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using hex-encoded "/" or "." characters in file paths to minimize the risk of exploitation.
