CVE-2002-2300
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
3Com NBX versions 4.0.17, 4.1.4
Description:
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the ftpd service, which can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This is achieved by sending a long CEL command, resulting in a crash.
Recommendations:
For version 4.0.17, update the ftpd service to a version that is not affected by the buffer overflow issue.
For version 4.1.4, update the ftpd service to a version that is not affected by the buffer overflow issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the ftpd service until a patch is available.
