CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MailEnable versions 1.5 015 through 1.5 018
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially due to a buffer overflow, by sending a long USER string.
Recommendations For MailEnable versions 1.5 015 through 1.5 018, consider restricting access to the login functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the length of the USER string that can be processed by the system. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
