CVE-2002-2400

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibHTTPD version 1.2
Description A buffer overflow issue exists in the httpdProcessRequest function, allowing remote attackers to potentially cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code by sending a long HTTP POST request.
Recommendations For LibHTTPD version 1.2, consider restricting access to the httpdProcessRequest function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limiting the length of HTTP POST requests may help minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
