High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
webfs versions prior to 1.20
Description
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in webfs, which can be exploited by creating directories that result in a long pathname, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code. Additionally, there are multiple vulnerabilities in the webfs package that can lead to breaches of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information, and these can be exploited remotely.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 1.20, update to version 1.20 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the webfs directory creation functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation.
