Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Netris versions 0.52 and earlier
Description
The issue concerns multiple vulnerabilities in the Netris package of the Debian GNU/Linux operating system, which can be exploited remotely to compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. A buffer overflow vulnerability allows remote malicious Netris servers to execute arbitrary code on Netris clients via a long server response.
Recommendations
For Netris versions 0.52 and earlier, consider disabling the Netris client functionality until a patch is available to prevent remote exploitation. Restrict access to Netris servers to minimize the risk of arbitrary code execution. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
