7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
pam-pgsql versions 0.5.2 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via the
username that is provided during authentication. This occurs because the username is not properly handled when recording a log message.Recommendations:
For versions 0.5.2 and earlier, consider updating to a newer version that properly handles the
username variable during authentication, or as a temporary workaround, restrict access to the authentication mechanism to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
