Description:
The issue is related to an unknown vulnerability in the SmartHTML interpreter, which can be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This is achieved by sending a certain request, resulting in a response failure.
Recommendations:
For Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions versions 2000 and 2002, consider restricting access to the SmartHTML interpreter until a fix is available.
For Microsoft SharePoint Team Services version 2002, avoid using the affected SmartHTML interpreter functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
