CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenBSD kernel versions 3.3 and 3.4
Description The issue allows local users to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to a kernel panic, and may also enable the execution of arbitrary code in version 3.4. This is due to improper handling of a program with an invalid header by the iBCS2 emulation (compat ibcs2) in ibcs2 exec.c or by exec elf.c, resulting in a stack-based buffer overflow.
Recommendations For OpenBSD kernel version 3.3, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. For OpenBSD kernel version 3.4, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
