Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically memory consumption, by making certain RPC calls with arguments that lead to large memory allocations.
Recommendations
For Sun Solaris versions 2.5.1 through 9 for SPARC, restrict access to UDP RPC services to minimize the risk of exploitation.
For Sun Solaris versions 2.5.1 through 8 for x86, consider disabling UDP RPC until a fix is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
