Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the reverse DNS lookup of the affected software. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a client with a long hostname.

For Smart IRC Daemon (SIRCD) versions 0.4.0 through 0.4.4, consider updating to a newer version that addresses the buffer overflow issue in the reverse DNS lookup. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
