Description A buffer overflow issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via an e-mail attachment with a compressed ZIP file that contains a file with a long filename.
Recommendations For Symantec Norton AntiVirus version 2002, consider avoiding the use of e-mail attachments with compressed ZIP files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of ZIP files with long filenames to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
