Description
A buffer overflow issue exists in the rendering of Windows Metafile (WMF) or Enhanced Metafile (EMF) image formats, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malformed WMF or EMF image.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, update to a newer service pack or version to mitigate the risk.
For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP2 through SP4, update to SP2 or a newer service pack to mitigate the risk.
For Microsoft Windows XP SP1, update to SP2 or a newer service pack to mitigate the risk.
