Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Solaris versions 7 through 9
Description
A security issue in the Basic Security Module (BSM) of Solaris allows local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in a kernel panic, when the BSM is configured to audit either the Administrative (ad) or the System-Wide Administration (as) audit class.
Recommendations
For Solaris versions 7 through 9, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the BSM audit functionality for the Administrative (ad) and System-Wide Administration (as) audit classes until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
